Camellia stood in the beaten up square trying to remember how it looked before the infection even came to planet. She didn't have much luck though because she hardly remembered anything before the outbreak. Most of the things she remembered were more broad then how the square that she hardly ever visited looked. And there were more important things to worry about at the moment, but she probably would procrastinate on worrying over those things anyway.
She walked over to the flower beds to see if there were any flowers that were hidden through the weeds. Even though she had turned into a murderous monster she could still enjoy flowers, they smelled nice and were just nice altogether. The colourful rays of hope could brighten anyones day, but there weren't any and thus in a way no hope. As she searched through the last flower bed she sighed and moved on to the bench to sit on it.
The square usually had a lot more of the infected people in here. But today it seemed like a rather lonely place. Perhaps the infect-ies were hiding, trying to lure a poor healthy person to come searching for food. Or perhaps the some of the infected people have been killed in great numbers, thus not coming to the square. She doubted the latter though, with the amount of infected people now a days, the only way to get rid of them all would probably be nuking the town. Saying the military was involved with this, there was the thought that they might just do that. Even so, viruses don't die, and it'll probably take the scientists a while to come up with a vaccine.
The day was cloudy and rather dreary. The town which used to be full of people was now empty save one creature, who was barely even human. The birds weren't chirping which now-a-days wasn't that unusual but it did add to the silence that filled the town. And there Camellia sat there bored as people were losing their lives, or becoming something that's barely living almost every second. She was just there wishing for something interesting to do as people were wishing for more time. There she was, wasting time that she knew herself could've been used doing something more productive.

SECRET RECORDINGS WERE MADE IN my mind. i bore a hole in the tree just to see.- - - - - - - - - - - Kelsey needed to get away. She needed supplies and such - And that meant entering the lion's den. She was prepared though; she had a large butcher knife, and an axe. The axe was heavy, so she had it tucked safely in her bag. It was weird being away from her home town. She had never been that far from it before - Even before the outbreak. Her and her family never traveled much, and Kelsey was only allowed but so far out of the house. They were scared that a coyote might get her or something. She laughed quietly to herself - Coyotes were the least of her troubles now, weren't they? A faint smile appeared on her pale lips, but her colorless eyes stayed alert, looking for any sign of movement.
She knew she was in what used to be a very densely populated area - Meaning the Creatures could be everywhere. Right now, though, all seemed quiet. It was weird, like they said in movies: 'It was quiet... Too quiet...' Kelsey's grin widened, remembering how not long ago she was watching Zombieland with her brother... Joking on how illogical it was that 'zombies' would take over the Earth. Kelsey sighed, 'I guess Dalton was right.' She thought to herself, pulling her bag back up on her shoulder. She was so small, how was she expected to survive?
Then she heard it - Movement. Kelsey's gray eyes narrowed. What was it? She crouched lower to the ground and moved almost painfully slowly. Then she saw it, a Creature. It looked just like how she had heard; wounded skin, pale to where the skin was a gray, and moving almost human-like. This one though... This one had a robotic arm. It struck Kelsey like a bullet - They did used to be human. She bit her pale lip to stop from crying out in sympathy. Kelsey reached for her knife. 'Oh god...' She thought, realizing that technically, if she killed this Creature, that she was killing a human being. Murder. Kelsey didn't like this at all.

Camellia heard something. Is wasn't much, just a small sound that could have easily been another infected person, an animal, or even the wind. Normally , if it were a typical crowded day at the square she either wouldn't have heard it or wouldn't have cared, but now she did. Plus, if it were one of the infected she could ask them where everyone was. Or, perhaps if she were lucky she'd even find a human.
After fighting a bit with her laziness, she managed to roll of the bench and stretch her arm. She sniffed the air around her to see if she smelled rotting flesh to signal if it were another creature like herself. Even though she did smell it, it was probably just herself she was smelling. That or the scent of rotten flesh being stagnant in the air from so much of the infected people staying around here. Camellia sighed to herself for going to the trouble of even trying to smell the air.
She turned around and headed toward the direction of the sound. Her gate was slow, her eyes slowly scanning the area to find the source of the sound. The square was a fairly large area and there were quite a few places to hide so it might take a little bit for her to find what caused the sound. If she couldn't find after a while, she'd probably just give up. But if she did give up, she wouldn't have anything to do. And that's no fun is it?
This reminded her of a game of hide and seek that she used to play with her brother. That was a time where people were innocent and not worried about whether they would live the next day or not. Or even if they'd become worse off then dead like she had. Those days have sadly disappeared and now if there was a game of hide and seek, the loser would most likely be killed. Oh how society has changed.
But those thoughts weren't important right now, for those days were gone. If they returned chances are she wouldn't be alive to see them, or she'd be killed trying to get back to how life used to be. It's better to live as a monster now and be killed later than to not live at all. As the thought crossed her mind she saw something out of place. A bag, and it seemed to be weighed down by something. She decided not to make guesses at what it was and just decided to focus on the human wielding a butcher's knife that was carrying it.
"Hello," she said and smirked. "It really is a pleasure to meet you." And with that, she did what her instincts told her to do, attack.

WE HOLD ALL THE WORDS. BUT THEY'RE scattered and broken so you'll never know.- - - - - - - - - - - Kelsey faltered in her step a bit. She made a noise. Silently cursing herself, she watched the Creature as she waited for it to move. To do something. To show if it had heard her or not. It heard. It began sniffing, looking around. Looking for Kelsey. Gulping, Kelsey clasped her knife tighter as the Creature worked its way around the square.
She was getting closer. Kelsey could smell the blood and hear the footsteps. Kelsey drew in a deep breath. She had to admit - She was terrified. What was going to become of her? Was she going to die? Was she going to have to kill it? Her hand began shaking, and Kelsey worked so hard to keep it steady. She must not show weakness, she must not show weakness... Her gray eyes saw it. It was inching closer. It was only a matter of time before -
It spoke. Its tone raspy, as if it were just a very sick human. Which technically, Kelsey guessed, it was. Then it attacked. It lunged at Kelsey at the speed of light. Kelsey tried desperately to move away, but wasn't quick enough. Paralyzed in fear, the attack knocked Kelsey back a few paces. Fight or flight kicked in and Kelsey turn and ran fast as she could. She wasn't looking where she was going, she just needed to get out. As she rounded a corner, Kelsey's gray eyes widened in horror. She had led herself right into a dead in. This was it - She was done for. She had to fight.
Panting, Kelsey turned to face her attacker, her gray eyes brimming with fear. She knew she shouldn't have come out here alone. It was stupid - illogical. Kelsey tightened her grip on the knife. This was it, she had to trying. Swinging blindly, Kelsey swung, the butt of the knife aimed at the side of the Creature's head.

The human ran, and by instinct she chased. If she hadn't been infected she would've probably either ran away when she heard the sound or gotten someone, or something, else to look at what was there. The disease though made her want to kill everything on site, even cute little animals. Not that most of the cute little animals were as cute now, everything just seemed ugly in her sight.
It was a good thing that the town was mainly empty today. If that wasn't the case then the human would've probably been torn limb from limb by now and Camellia would've missed out on all the action. And that wouldn't have been fun would it.
Well, perhaps it would be better because she always felt a bit of guilt whenever she killed a human or made them into a monster. She remembered when her father attacked her every time and that wasn't quite a pleasant memory. Usually she let others kill or infect and she'd just either make the body remaining dead so they wouldn't have to go through what she is, or kick it to make it feel like she was part of the kill.
Camellia saw the human turn around, full completely of fear. It seemed like the human was going to turn to desperate measures to get out alive. She started flailing the knife around trying to hit Camellia which ending up having the following conversations in Camellia's head:
'Run away! She could hurt you! Or kill you! You might be completely dead and never able to live againg!'
'Kill... KILL! You must attack her, NO!'
'But if you die you won't be able to see the beautiful things in life like the flowers and the p--'
ATTACK!
Not wanting to listen to her mind, Camellia walked forward and quickly after remembered the knife being swung at her. It would take to long to quickly duck to dodge it so she lifted her mechanical arm to try and stop it. Partly, it did work. Now she just couldn't use one of her arms.
