H I S T O R Y : Leon was born to a middle-class, conservative family in the backwoods of his beloved Tennessee. His father was a military veteran and served in law enforcement his entire life. Growing up Leon's father instilled in him the military ideals that are still with him today: loyalty, hard working, etc. It was during his childhood his father would also set his son on the course to enter the military by sending him to private military schools once he reached the appropriate age.
In school he excelled in sports, playing football, baseball, basketball, and others. He would go on to receive football scholarship offers from dozens of high profile schools but decided to enter the military at age 17. Following in his father's footsteps he graduated from high school early and entered the United States Marine Corp.
Knowing his values and ideals he grew up with he decided he wanted to be the best Marine he could be and initially signed up for the Marine Force Recon. He would eventually wind up transferring to the newly created Marine Special Operations Regiments that were created in 2006. He would go on to serve a collective sixteen years in the Corp and decided to retire at the age of 33.
After receiving his honorable discharge he was recruited by some of his old Marine buddies into signing on with Blackwater USA. He would go on to work with Blackwater as a private military contractor for five years until he received the news that his wife and kids were robbed and murdered while he was away on a contract....
After finding the news out he took a leave of absence from Blackwater until he came to peace with the loss of his family then returned to his job.R O L E - P L A Y : Leon had just returned from a contract job for Blackwater on a classified mission in Mexico to capture or kill some drug cartel leaders that had been threatening towns along the US-Mexico border. When he had received the news of his family's murder, he had really taken the news hard; he had turned to drinking, left his job, and didn't leave his apartment for weeks. It was during those weeks spent in confinement that he rededicated himself to his religion. After making peace with God about the loss of his family he slowly and surely left his apartment and reintegrated himself in the world of the living.
It had been three months since he had returned to work as a military contractor when the mission to Jupiter happened and when the outbreaks started. At first Leon passed it off without much thought but as the days and weeks went by a growing dread was rising within him with the constant reports of missing persons or the grizzly murders during the nights. One night as he was driving home he spotted an injured man in the middle of the road misising a huge chunk of his right arm and left leg, snapping into his military training he got the first aid kit he had in the trunk and went ot assist them man. "Sir I need to remain calm and focus in on me can you do that please?" He barked, it wasn't a suggestion, but an order. As he got close he heard the unearthly moan and growl escape the man's lips and started dragging himself toward him.
Then out of the woody area to his left a hellish group of infected let out angry moans and started chasing after Leon. Using military precision he grabbed his concealed 1911 Colt .45 and rushed back and shot a few of the closest infected before quickly running back to the car. He revved the engine up and sped away not forgetting the unearthly faces he had just saw...
He quickly returned to his apartment and bolted the door before sliding down sweating from fear before the gunshots in the distant started...
Thus began Leon's fight for survival.
